Education
I graduated from Anderson University in Anderson, IN in 2001 with a Bachelors in Education. In 2005, I obtained my Masters in Teaching and Leadership from St. Xavier University based out of Chicago, IL. I continued with my education and received an ESL degree in 2008 from University of Phoenix online program. Lastly, I have completed 45 hours of graduate level classes within the Chicago land area to keep up with the latest pedagogy. By 2010 I had my Masters +45.
Experience
I have taught 1st grade in Gurnee, IL at District #56 for 5 years (2001-2006). Then I moved to the Barrington #220 district and have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade during the past 9 years. I currently still teach at Sunny Hill Elementary. I have also worked at Huntington Learning Center after school for one year. (2008) My entire teaching career I have tutored in the evenings and weekends. I have tutored students that are struggling and those who want to excel above grade level. I specialize in tutoring students K-9. I have been recognized for bringing students up to grade level after working with them for a year. Teaching struggling students to read is my strength and passion of mine. I love building a relationship with a child and building into him/her so they can be perform to their potential all the while maintaining a love for learning.

Hobbies
I am a triathlete and have competed in a 1/2 Ironman in 2014 earning 12th place in my age group. I train all year to compete in different races. I also enjoy slalom water skiing on a slalom course. Socializing with friends and family to maintain healthy strong relationships is one of the most fulfilling ways I use my free time. I attend Willow Creek church and go to services on Wednesday night and on the weekends to grow as a person and become all that God has intended me to be.
